Fernando Vidal is a Ramon y Cajal research fellow, currently at POLYMAT-UPV/EHU, whose research interests expand from sustainable monomer and polymer platforms, functional and recyclable materials, to novel catalyst design in controlled polymerizations.
His role in POLINA is to coordinate the development of new photobase catalysts, specifically optimized to enable the lithographic printing and additive manufacturing of new bio-inspired poly amino acids. Fernando believes that POLINA’s technology offers the next step in the fabrication of bio-compatible products, with the potential to revolutionize and accelerate the research in many bio-medical fields.
