The POLINA consortium convened for its 4th General Assembly on 15 and 16 January 2026 in Montreuil, Paris, hosted at the premises of 4DCell. The two-day meeting brought together project partners for structured technical exchanges, work package updates and strategic discussions, supporting coordination across scientific, technological and management activities.
Day 1: Coordination, dissemination and materials research
The General Assembly opened on Thursday afternoon with participant arrival and registration, followed by a welcome session led by RCSI. The first set of discussions focused on transversal activities critical to the overall progress of the project.
Work Package 5 on Coordination and Management, presented by RCSI and accelCH, provided an overview of ongoing management activities, key objectives and forthcoming milestones. The session addressed operational coordination, reporting timelines and next steps to ensure efficient project implementation in line with Horizon Europe requirements.
This was followed by the Work Package 4 session on Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation, led by accelCH. Partners reviewed dissemination progress, outlined upcoming communication actions and discussed exploitation planning to maximise the impact and visibility of POLINA’s results.
The afternoon concluded with presentations from Work Package 1 on Chemistry and Materials, delivered by UPV/EHU, RCSI and UAVR. The session highlighted recent scientific advances, methodological developments and planned research activities, reinforcing the integration of materials research within the broader POLINA technology framework.
The first day concluded with a consortium group photo and an informal networking dinner.
Day 2: Structuring, device integration and in-depth scientific exchange
The second day of the General Assembly, held on Friday from the morning until mid-afternoon, focused on core technological developments and cross-work-package scientific discussion.
Proceedings resumed with Work Package 2 on Lithographic Structuring, presented by CNRS and UHEI, offering updates on technical progress, challenges encountered and next implementation steps.
Following a coffee break, Work Package 3 on Device Integration was presented by 4DCELL, UAVR and RCSI, with a focus on integrating project components into functional devices and ensuring coherence between materials, structuring and system-level performance.
The afternoon was dedicated to two extended scientific discussion sessions, engaging all consortium members. These sessions enabled in-depth technical dialogue, alignment across work packages and joint planning of forthcoming experimental and integration activities.
The meeting concluded with a wrap-up session addressing any other business, consolidating agreed actions and confirming priorities for the next project phase. The General Assembly formally closed in the afternoon.
Reinforcing collaboration and project coherence
The 4th POLINA General Assembly strengthened collaboration across the consortium and provided a clear roadmap for the coming months. Through coordinated management discussions, focused technical updates and open scientific exchange, partners further reinforced the project’s coherence and ambition to deliver high-impact results.
