Dr. Patricia Davidson is a chemist with expertise in biomedical engineering and microfluidics. At 4Dcell, Patricia is a senior research scientist, facilitating the development of new products to expand their line of 3D cell culture tools.
Her role in POLINA is to coordinate the medical applications of the poly amino acids developed by other members of the consortium. She is working on adapting 4Dcell’s tools to polymers derived from amino acids, and coordinating the use of poly amino acids as sophisticated 3D printed implants for patients.
Patricia is passionate about developing tools to reduce the use of animals in medical research. Through the development of natural polymers, such as PAA, for medical applications, we reduce both the potential harm that can be caused when introducing these in the human body, and reduce the need to rely on animals for testing.
Learn more through her insightful insights, and stay tuned as we continue to unveil more of the remarkable minds behind POLINA!
